Why ShipEasy

One price, and one reason it can change.

Four things usually go wrong when you move a pallet: the price changes after the fact, the delivery service is quoted back to you later, you need your own carrier contracts, and you pay a subscription to find out. Here is how we are built differently.

The alternatives

What you’re probably using now.

Nobody shops for freight software in the abstract. There are four things you could be doing instead, and each breaks in its own way.

How ShipEasy compares to the four common alternatives. Every row is a statement about what ShipEasy does; the other columns describe how that category of tool generally works, not any specific product.

We are not trying to replace your parcel app — keep it for anything under 150 lb. See what we do and don’t quote.

What’s different

Four decisions that are hard to copy.

Not features so much as guarantees. Each one is enforced in the software rather than promised in a sales call.

  • The quoted number is the billed number

Our margin and the accessorials are already inside the rate you were shown, so no second invoice arrives from us. Before the freight moves we re-rate the lane twice — once when you start the booking, once immediately before we tender — and a difference of one cent stops the booking rather than adjusting your charge. A booking that would go out below carrier cost is refused outright.

The one thing that can move the number afterwards is the carrier’s own measurement. If it reweighs, remeasures or reclassifies the freight against what was declared, the charge is adjusted either way within 60 days on the payment method on file — and you are told, with 30 days to dispute it. That is Terms § 8.3, and it is the only exception on this page.

  • Quotes that are genuinely comparable

Carriers describe transit differently. We collapse every range to its slowest day through one shared piece of code, so “5 business days” means the same thing on two competing quotes. And when two carriers offer the same service, we keep the one that is cheaper for you — ranked on the all-in price, not on our cost.

  • The delivery experience is a price, not a phone call

Curbside, room of choice and white glove come back as rates on the quote, priced from the carriers’ own accessorial tables. A second person on the truck, a weekend pickup and the New York metro surcharge are detected from the shipment itself — you don’t have to know the rule to be quoted correctly.

  • You stay the brand your customer bought from

The tracking page we generate for a consignee is forwardable, needs no login, and never mentions ShipEasy. A broker portal makes your customer read someone else’s name on the page where their sofa is late. We think that’s your relationship, not ours.

Also true

The rest of the reasons.

  • No carrier accounts, no commitment

We are the licensed broker (FMCSA MC‑1483730), so there is nothing to sign with CEVA, Alliance or AIT and no volume you have to promise anyone.

  • Nothing to pay to find out

Quoting is free and unlimited, there is no subscription and no per-seat charge. You pay once per Bill of Lading, on the number you already saw.

  • Two front doors, one desk behind them

A Shopify app for order-driven freight and a browser portal for reps quoting live. Same carriers, same rates, same Bill of Lading, and support cases from both land in one queue.

  • Built for a team, not a seat

A shared SKU catalog so nobody retypes dimensions, roles and invites, saved consignees, and every booking shown next to the name of whoever made it. Groups that trade under several entities switch organizations without a second password.

  • Security you can check, not just read

Personal data encrypted at rest with AES‑256‑GCM, optional two-factor sign-in with recovery codes, self-serve data export, and a published DPA, AUP and Shipper Services Agreement.

  • A real recovery path when a carrier misbehaves

A tender that times out is never silently retried into a double booking. Failed bookings get re-tendered at the price you already paid, and a carrier can be pulled from rotation immediately rather than at the next release.

Straight answers

Where we’re the wrong choice.

Cheaper to tell you now than after you’ve installed it.

You ship parcel Keep your parcel app

We print no UPS, FedEx or USPS labels and don’t want to. Under 150 lb is somebody else’s job.

You need rates at checkout Not available

ShipEasy quotes from the order after it’s placed, not live in the Shopify checkout.

You ship outside the lower 48 Not yet

Contiguous 48 states plus DC, in USD. Alaska, Hawaii and international are on the roadmap.

You want your own carrier rates Not supported

We rate on our contracts across three networks. If you have hard-won contracts of your own, a bring-your-own-carrier tool will serve you better.

Book your first shipment this week.

Install it into Shopify in about five minutes. Or request a portal account for your team — a person reviews that one, so it takes a little longer.

Not sure which? Email us. A real person replies within one business day.
